Belmond, Iowa

Belmond was once a large railroad junction in northern Iowa. The city contained a Chicago Great Western line, as well as two Rock Island lines and a Minneapolis & St. Louis line.
Today, Union Pacific operates the CGW route south of Belmond and the RI line going west from Belmond. Iowa Northern operates the RI heading north, while the RI heading south, the CGW heading north and the M&StL are all abandoned.
